Battle Nations Patreon Tier Rules

We are super excited to share the specifics of our new Patreon tiers! The following guidelines are to help provide clarity on specific requirements that need to be met including rules on international shipping, merchandise eligibility and tier jumping. The main points are that there is a four-month requirement for most physical merch and international shipping will cost extra. Read on for more specific details!

1. International Shipping:

• Shipping Costs: Reach out on Discord for an estimate if you’re based abroad. Patrons are responsible for international shipping costs.
• Payment: Settle the shipping costs via PayPal
• Customs, Duties, Taxes: Any customs, duties, or taxes on international packages are to be handled by patrons.

2. Merchandise Eligibility and Delivery:

• Commitment Period: Items with an asterisk (*) require a 4-month minimum commitment at or above the tier for the reward. This is generally physical merchandise. The notable exception is the mammoth pillow of the mammoth tier which will be granted with only 1 month of donation at the mammoth tier. All other items only require a one-month commitment before being granted. These periods were chosen based off material costs and thus cannot be shortened.
• Reward Delivery Schedule: Physical rewards are shipped to target the official launch day, not at the start of the closed beta. New units and buildings that we design from scratch may be delivered after the official launch day due to custom tooling development requirements. Any units or buildings that already exist will be delivered on launch day or when you reach an in-game level that doesn’t make the reward severely imbalance the gameplay experience.
• Nanopod Supply Drop Schedule: On the beta launch day, you will be granted all nanos accumulated starting from September 1, 2023. After the beta launch day, you will be granted nanos on the 3rd day of each month. If you join Patreon for the first time after the beta launch day, you will be granted your nanos for the month immediately. If you upgrade to a higher tier mid-month, you will be prorated to the next tier’s nano level immediately.
• Physical Merch Deadline: You must reach your 4-month requirement by August 1, 2024. Donations after this point will only include digital rewards. This is to ensure we have enough time to pack and ship all of the merch boxes. This means you must start donating by May 30, 2024, at or above the tier you are aiming for to meet the deadline.
• Merch Sizing Survey Deadline: By August 1, 2024, we will release a survey form to obtain shirt/hoodie sizing. This will be due on September 1, 2024. You must submit this before the deadline as we will be ordering based on survey responses. We will default to a medium size if no response is received in time.
• Effective Date: Your four-month credit requirement starts accumulating from donations on or after September 1, 2023. We unfortunately cannot count donations prior to this date due to merch costs.

3. Tier Jumping and Reward Distribution:

In general, the rule of thumb is you will get the digital rewards for the highest tier you donate to and you will get the physical rewards for the highest tier you donate at or above for at least 4 months.

• Upgrading Tiers: You will be credited for the highest tier you donate to each month.
• Downgrading Tiers: You will have already been credited for donating at the higher tier and thus also get the higher tier rewards. The lower tier will count from the following month and onwards. For example, you can donate to the Mammoth tier, then immediately downgrade to the Emperor tier and you will get the Mammoth tier rewards for the month. Downgrades should not charge you again.
• Non-consecutive Contributions: The 4-month requirement can be fulfilled non-consecutively.
